WEED! LOL! :>)
It's a very clear photo, as usual!
Even with the extreme drought here in SoCal. these plants still grow wild along the freeways and empty fields.

If it produces seed (and it should) I'll send some your way Amy.
Delonix - your freeways must smell lovely!

Wow Thanks Keith :o))

Meanie:
I wouldn't say they smell lovely. The freeways may look picturesque, though. The wild Cape Plumbago (Plumbago auriculata), Eucalyptus (Corymbia) ficifolia, Bougainvillea, Thevetia peruviana, Lantana and even the African Tulip trees (Spathodea campanulata) around the freeways by downtown San Diego have been blooming for several months (which don't usually bloom until August). All the Jacaranda and Tipu trees have finished flowering, though.

Lovely, all our Brugmansias are very slow this year......

Sues has been slow too.

Brugmansia loves a lot of fertilizer! It may make your plants grow faster.

It is fed enough already! On tomato feed at the moment.
I'm suggesting to her that we give it a root prune this time.

Yep lots of feed, and nothing on our large Snowbank (variegated one) a few flowers on a cutting a pink one, the orange as usual beggar all, just binned the large orange one, and keeping a large cutting of it, one of these days it is going to surprise me!!

Yes, you need to cut the roots...as you know it has tons of roots, which fill a pot within a few weeks. Angel's Trumpets can only thrive in the ground with lots of water. I can never give all my Angel's Trumpets enough water, although they bloom very well most of the year.

Thanks Delonix. When to do it - autumn as it goes dormant or spring?
9 Aug, 2014
You can cut back the roots anytime it fills out the pot. That's how I've always done it. It's a good idea to trim the top a little, also. When you trim back the top it usually stimulates new growth and flower buds.
Common practice here is to cut back the plants after each bloom cycle (for shrubs in the ground). It stimulates new growth and flowering...this is done year-round.

Thanks. Maybe the spring would be best as it'll be dormant over the winter.

If the roots are filling up the pot now...it's best to cut them back. It will stimulate new growth which will put on new flower buds. Typically, plants in pots will usually be stunted (no growth or flower buds at all) when root-bound.
