First of my Erythroniums to flower, my favourite.

I like these too. I can't grow them here though...they just don't like it here. I had them in my last garden...no idea why. Any way, they are beautiful but I always think the flowers are mismatched with the foliage....not in a bad way, just a little bit strange. I'd expect those leaves to produce something much sturdier...something like Lords and Ladies perhaps. But they are lovely.

The Ethyroniums are doing much better in this shady border, now I'm putting leafmould anually on this border.
However thelabel in the 'compound' around this one says Hosta so maybe I've put a Hosta in the same spot. Will have to see and socially isolate if the Hosta appears.
