A couple of months ago after watching Gardeners World I had a go at some leaf cuttings from one of my Eucomis. From six cuttings three have taken. If you look carefully you'll see three of the four shoots that this one cutting has put up.

Well done Meanie , if anyone can do it you can :o)

I have no idea what a Beschorneria grows from (bulb, tuber etc) SL, but as mine is strong and has plenty of leaves I thought what the heck!
Amy - if you have any give it a go next year!

To be honest Meanie, i'm not that sure either i just remember my dad having these as cuttings in his greenhouse..def worth a try though,,

Worth a try as I broke the leaf off, so it was "scrap" anyway!

It's doing very well!

They are Delonix - a total of six shoots from three leaf cuttings have emerged so far..............

A M A Z I N G, Meanie. Well done!! I tried leaf cuttings once (begonia with spotted foliage) but nothing happened other than having rotten leaves lol.
19 Dec, 2011
One of the cuttings looks pretty rotten, but it is throwing up a shoot.
19 Dec, 2011
Maybe I should have given my rotten leaves some more time. I didn't think it would take a couple of months for them to have shoots and chucked them all after a week or two.
19 Dec, 2011
A week or two!!!!
You'll have to be much more patient than that!
19 Dec, 2011
I should have known better :o)
But I just didn't know~. Thanks for this photo Meanie, I've learned a new thing :-)
