Fuchsia perscandens

meanie

By Meanie

Fuchsia perscandens (Fuchsia Perscandens)

F.perscandens blooms in a flush twice a year - late spring and early autumn. It's now starting its second flush, and in a week or two will be loaded with flowers.

Thanks Moti!
It's a messy grower (can't make up it's mind whether it should grow up or down) and the flowers are small and tend to be a little hidden, but it's my favourite Fuchsia.
It defies all attempts to take cuttings, but I have harvested some seeds this year.

It reminds me a bit of this winter flowering shrub - forgot the name.... something with the honey in the name, lol. will google it in a moment. The same glossy yellow petals...

hmm - honey bush is a common name for melianthus major. But the name I was looking for is Chimonanthus praecox. just a bit of similarity, lol

Not sure what name it was, it was the colour I reckonised, mine had a very tiny flower, I was told it grew on their beaches so perhaps I had the other like you say.
