I'm not sure about it. I only bought it on Friday. I got it in a nursery where they had obviously potted up the bulbs as Galanthus Nivalis. At some point someone must have decided it was not a nivalis and stuck a preprinted label on a plastic stick saying it was G. Elwessi. Their spelling not mine. I had a look on http://www.judyssnowdrops.co.uk/
the closest I could find to this one was G. Elwesii 'Lodestar' or more likely Elwesii var.elwesii which can have one solid block of green on the inner petals or two. The site does say it can be less sturdy and may be best grown under glass as it does not like the wet. I'll put the back of the label on so you can read that it recommends temperatures much warmer than our common snowdrop would require. I thought I would plant it in an alpine pot and keep it under cover in the winter.

How odd! Never thought a snowdrop would ever need coddling.

I too was quite surprised, I'm not a plant coddling gardener really, however now I have it I would hate to lose it.

Is this a late one? Very interesting markings on it - unusual.
