Gazania Daybrea

Gazania Daybrea (Gazania ringens)

Some Gazania Daybrea that my brother-in-law gave me. These were in pretty bad shape and I have brought them back to life using an organic mix of compost tea, seaweed, apple cider vinegar, and fish emulsion. The little guys will be going into the ground in a specially prepared area designed just for them tomorrow and I'll be photographing their progress.

Will used tea bags help growth, if put around the base of plants ?

That, I have never tried. Coffee grounds and crushed egg shells makes a wonderful organic fertilizer for most plants, but I have not tried the tea bags.

Thanks for explaining about the coffee grounds.
I've been putting those around plants to try to help deter slugs, but I wasn't sure if the coffee was actually helping the soil also. :o)

Yes it does! About 1 cup of grounds per plant around Roses will encourage floral production. Acid loving plants such as Hydrangeas also love it! ;-)
