Thanks Louise - love these, but lots didn't survive the monsoonal rainfall we had at the beginning of the year. I've only had three patches come back and they're still a bit sad!

Does your soil hold the water or is it free draining there ?

Louise - living on the side of a rocky hill the soil is fairly free-draining but the force of the monsoonal rain just pummels the plants ferociously and the constant rain for two months creates rivers through some of the property and garden beds. Some poor plants haven't got a chance.

The growing conditions here can be trying for both plants and gardener - that's why I've dug up the three patches of gazania and have potted them up. I'll have to think carefully about whether to plant them again in the garden.
