This pretty Hebe is flowering for the second time!

Lovely shade of pink. I have a laburnum tree with some flowers on it. This is not good for the long term life of our plants is it.

I love the colour too - this is one of the dwarf Hebes I planted in the fence border earlier this year. I checked all the labels and also on the Hebe website to make sure they were all hardy. I think I planted five different ones - but as it's dark, raining and blowing a gale, I'm not going out to count them! :-/

I thought all hebes were fully hardy - could be wrong though!

I'm afraid you are, Sheila. I lost two last year and one in the preceding winter.

Here's the address of the Hebe Society - it's a good site and tells you all you want to know about lots and lots of Hebes - with photos! :-)

Ah well, they say you learn something every day!!

Well, I do, that's for sure! ;-))

I'm curious now, Barbara! will use the site above to check them out. The plant shape is very appealing and the flowers are gorgeous. I see you used your flash to take the pic ...it does well in a shady spot?

LOL. We've had gales here, Lori, and although I tried to take a decent photo while it was still daylight, the Hebe was waving madly about, and I had to delete all the blurred photos, so I went out in the twilight when the wind dropped - and of course the flash went off. No - they prefer some sun.

I expect that's because it's a dwarf one. :-)
