A great flower. I thought it was the whole plant at first.

Amy it is in a very large container, Karen it is a reaction to he garden lol
Feverfew it is a large flower....

What do you do with the plant in the winter?

Leave it outside but wrap the container in fleece Siris.....

My Gingerlily which is huge (7ft) lives in the conservatory. I was hoping to kill it, but have decided to put it outside next Spring in the garden border.

Always till this year, it is out growing it's pot literally.

No, I don't know the variety Dd, it was given to me by my neighbour down the road, who never remembers the names of what she has bought.

I know the Kahili ginger flowers in June/July here in San Diego. The white and yellow gingers flower in late summer through fall.

Delonix thanks, this seems to be the time of the year that they come in to flower over here...it has already gone over sadly!

Did it only produce one flower spike or several? Usually, (here anyway) they produce many flower spikes in summer.

Mine didn't even get going until the start of July so no flowers here this year. They are very sweetly scented aren't they.

I can't imagine cold this early in the year...as it's been sweltering hot here for weeks and will be for a while.
