This is the result of H. rubrum x H. gardneranum. H. rubrum is a red ginger, and H. gardneranum is yellow.

If any one is thinking of growing hedychium from seed, I find there is a better germination rate with fresh seed. I have tried several times with purchased seed and had no luck. But my fresh seed has done really well.

I like it a lot. Hedchiums tend to be an invasive species here, but I have looked around the internet and can't find one that is all orange. There are some bi-colored orange ones, but none that are just one color.
