I marked and discarded loads of self sown Hellebores that had not interesting flowers last year. No sign of my two doubles flowering yet!

What alot you have, the seeds you sent me a couple of years ago are young plants now and planted out :-)

Lori, What a shame Hellebores are not suited to your long winters. I saw your Helleborine photo earlier, excellent.
Dd, Have we been fooled into thinking they are late this year by the previous years mild winters? Also folks are buying lovely new double plants, which perhaps have not overwintered in their gardens.
Dawn, that's excellent, they were from a mixture of the best I have, but the plants are very promiscuous, you might need to cull out poor ones after you've seen the flower colours.

You could very well be right there Siris.......Tutu is just coming up!

Thanks Siris, I don’t really mind, the woodland can accommodate them.
My Tutu and the mystery double of mine have been flowering a while, quite odd.

Oh to have enough to cull... I love hellebores but they don't thrive here. Our winters are too long and our springs too cold. I do have the helleborine epipactus orchid though which blooms in early August.
