Aren't they gorgeousI. hope Simbad sees.

Two were from Simbad, the gorgeous yellow, and Frans. I have just discarded a Daylily I bought in France, buds distorted with Gall Midge and very similar to another I have.

A nice collection Siris. It's difficult to choose a favorite.

Beautiful love them all :O)

I would say my favourite would be narrowed down to a pest free one.

Lovely!!
It's such a strange year with earlies and mids flowering together , a lot that would normally miss the gall midge are affected this year, the siblings to your yellow look like they are going to miss it.
I thought Cute as Can Be was Lacy Doily it looks very similar when it fully doubles.

So ladies, how does the gall midge affect the daylilies - does the bud stay closed and soggy?

5 Jul, 2016

Yes Dawn and mis shapen more rounded and fat compared to a normal bud , if you open it you'll see tiny little grubs inside , have you got them too?

I think so, the bud was a bit like a balled rose bud and mushy. I will check them again tomorrow. Is there a prevention?

That's what has happened to ours early and mids flowering together so we have had lots of midge............. really disappointing.
Some very pretty ones there Sue.....

Simbad, I bought "Cute as can be" thro eBay, it does seem very similar to Lacey Doiley. I have little confidence with some EBay sellers.

Mmmmm know what you mean I've had many wrong plants, on the AHS database Cute as Can Be is listed as a red double self with 2 inch flowers .

Thanks Simbad, looked up the name, it definitely is not "Cute as can be". Need to change the name but to what. I seem to have misplaced "Little Fuit Cup" wonder if this is it? in which case where is "cute ....)? Just thrown out a single red, (badly affected with Gall Midge), labelled "Auchan" (that's a French Superstore"), where I thought I had bought. Confused .com!
