First Daylily to flower 2017 (Hemerocallis)

First to flower, from a relative's garden years ago. Scented and more importantly free of Gall Midge. Thanks to Simbad and Gnarly (they are the knowledgeable ones)who helped by putting the same name to it. And Wylie, but he's miles away.

Took the pic first thing in the morning yesterday with the sun behind me, so I think it is reflected light, the petals are so glossy on this one.

Olive, if they smell of mothballs maybe that's what keeps the gall midges of this variety.

Think moth balls would disintegrate if they were hung on the plants. Just have to keep picking off any distorted buds.
