Hibiscus 'L'Oiseau Bleu'

Hibiscus 'L'Oiseau Bleu' (Hibiscus syriacus 'Oiseau Bleu')

Such a lovely shrub - it's worth waiting until August for it to flower!

This is what I was planning to have beside the front door but I finished up with the double-flowered one I posted a few days ago

Andrew - I planted a white one this spring - it has buds on it, so I'm waiting in hope!

This is gorgeous.

They're pretty !
I saw them at the GC yesterday, there was a big display there, some had been trained as standards - not my cup of tea but it DID show what can be done !

Really? Not mine, either, though! lol.

I have just treated myself to one of these as a birthday present to myself.....lol have wanted one for ages... love them..........

I think, looking back, I should have paid out more and bought a bigger shrub, they are such slow growers. It HAS grown, but I wish it was a taller one with LOTS of flowers, instead of just a few....

The new white one has buds on it, but no open flowers yet. Something to look forward to.

Happy birthday, for whenever it was, Holly! :-)

Ours is huge, with so many flowers it bends in the slightest breeze........
Only joshing as we inherited ours and its lucky to still be there, because it flowers so late. :~))) (very tongue in cheek)

Hello again B. I've just found this on Ebay and wondered if it was any good.

Lovely!

Gorgeous! Are they hardy all over the country, do you know?

18 Aug, 2009

Yes - they are!

That's going on my shopping list, then! I think Seaburngirl and I will have to take another trip to Reighton Nursery! We spent so long with the herbaceous perennials we didn't have time to look at the shrubs!

18 Aug, 2009

Is it far from you?

18 Aug, 2009

About 40mins drive from my house. It's absolutely amazing - all herbaceous 9cm pots are 50p!! I bought Phlox, Euphorbias (martinii, Tiny Tim and Fireglow), Delphiniums, Penstemons, Rodgersias, Lobelia cardinalis, Echinacea White Swan and loads of others! Honestly, it's plant heaven!

18 Aug, 2009

(Whisper) I got taken to a Plant Wholesaler a few weeks ago - very similar - small pots, but really cheap! I was like a child in a sweet shop! So I do understand exactly how you felt!

18 Aug, 2009

I think I'll just go and Google Reighton Nursery to see where it is. Lol.................................Hmmmmmm 94 miles is a bit to far even for those prices

18 Aug, 2009

Too far, too far, Ian! It's 'oop north'!

18 Aug, 2009

Sorry B. I edited my message! ! !

18 Aug, 2009

94 miles? I wonder how far it is from me, then! A LOT more! :-(

19 Aug, 2009

Well your roughly 100 miles from me if you use the M5, so I'm sure you can do the maths !?! Lol :~((

19 Aug, 2009

Errrrrr....ummmmm...a long way?? lol.

19 Aug, 2009

Very. Lol. :~))

19 Aug, 2009

How could I not like it with a French name like that.........
