Alexandramou:

Thanks! Stay warm. :>)

Our weather has been perfect, around 73F/23 which is about normal...the ending of this week we're going to be starting a warming trend... temps up to 77F/25C - 83F/28C. for several days. :>)

7 Dec, 2010

Oh lucky guys,,,,well we went up to 17.9C and sunny today so that was ok....I'm hoping the weatherman has got it all wrong for Saturday. Forecast....5C and wild winds. ;o(
Not going out!!!

Meanie:

It is one of my favorite Hibiscus also.

Palmate
really stunning bloom.:o))

9 Dec, 2010

Alexandramou:
15 c cold that's positively tropical compared to here.
~7 to 0 degrees for the the last 2 weeks ....LOL..:o(((((

9 Dec, 2010

Alexandramou, Palmate:

You won't believe it. Now the meteorologist are saying, it's quite possibly going to get up to 92F/33C this coming weekend for inland San Diego...and 85F/29C for the coast...and staying warm and dry for several days. (this is a more typical La NiƱa pattern for S. Cal)

10 Dec, 2010

Palmate:

Glad you liked the flower! :>)

I hope it warm up for you soon! Are the temps suppose to get warm soon?

10 Dec, 2010

Alexandramou:

Hopefully, the weathermen are incorrect with the forecast! 41F/5C is very cold...especially, if it's windy.

10 Dec, 2010

Delonix and Mushybanna,
The wind is here!!!! 39-46mph!!!! 8 on the Beaufort scale.
Will have a drop down to 4C by tomorrow but at least it's sunny.

10 Dec, 2010

Alexandramou:

Wow! That's tropical storm-force winds! (Saffir-Simpson scale). With the wind chill, it's going to feel much colder. Stay safe and warm!

10 Dec, 2010

Delonix,
It's been pretty bad today....the wind was actually pushing me backwards! Then while driving my daughter to english lessons, the road was blocked...fallen pine tree. Branches all over the place...things flying off roofs...
Nice and warm in the house now. 8.8C at the moment.
Well tomorrow should be better...25-30mph

10 Dec, 2010

Alexandramou:

WOW!!! It sounds pretty intense and very stormy! Hopefully, it will calm down and warm up soon!

Did you mean it's 18.8C in you house? As 8.8C sounds too cold for inside a house.

10 Dec, 2010

Delonix,

8.8C outside!!! Way too cold for in the house!

The sun is out, the wind has dropped but it is 6.7C outside at the moment. That is Brrrrr. It looks like it's going to be a funny winter for us this year. Good thing I bought a few plants indoors, going to have a walk around the house and see what else needs to be bought indoors. I'm sure a lot of plants will look terrible this morning.

At least you have it nice and toastie again. ;o)))

11 Dec, 2010

Alexandramou:

Okay...that make sense. lol!

Yes, 44F/6.7C is definitely a big BRRRR!

This weekend and the beginning of next week will feel a lot like the middle of summer again...especially if it does get up to 92F/33C.

11 Dec, 2010

Fantastic blooms......

Dottydaisy2:

Thanks! :>)

15 Dec, 2010

Were getting colder again on Thursday. Its going to 3c in the morning and by the afternoon -5 and heavy snow warnings again ....:o((((((((

15 Dec, 2010

Mushybanna:

Sorry to hear about the heavy snow warnings!
The cold weather doesn't seem to want to end.

We've cooled down from all the hot weather too
It's probably going to rain tonight and off-and-on for
3 or 4 days. We need and want the rain though. :>)

15 Dec, 2010

Marguerite:

Thanks! It's one of my favorite Hibiscus species.

21 Dec, 2010

Wow, what an oddity...never seen this one before.

2 Jan, 2011

Tasteyg:

It's pretty common down here in S. Cal. I've seen some growing up in the San Francisco Bay Area also. It's a little more tender than the common H. rosa-sinensis.
