A closer view of the dragon fruit flowers. I decided to polinate the flowers so I can get some fruit, finally. Photo taken late night on August 3, 2012 in my front yard.

I thought dragon fruit are self polinate, because the owner of the mother plant, where I bought my cutting from he said his dragon fruit are self pollinate.
Since I brought the cutting home until now, my 5 yrs old dragon fruit plant never ever having flowers, I wonders what have I done wrong?

Dragon fruit must be hand pollinated...or no fruit! (or maybe one fruit). lol! :>)
My dragon fruit cactus is neglected. It rarely ever gets water and is under a big tree...which is not the best growing conditions. It should be grown in full sun with very little water.

Well my DF plant are planted in a big plastic trash bin, I also neglected it with rarely water, it not in full sun until around 11am til 3pm. Which is also not in a best growing condition, I think that's why it never ever have any flowers to bear fruits for me )=
Delonix1 do you know what should I do to force it to have flowers for me?????

I don't know a whole lot about dragon fruit cactus. I see a lot of them growing here. Most of the time they're growing in trees or on strong trellises in full sun.
