Goodness, what a lot you will have! I have just ordered 24, 12 each of 2 different types Purple Gem and Harmony. I am planning on growing them in pots as my soil gets so waterlogged and I don't want them to rot.

We have a lot of places where I can plant them. Do you remember Bulbaholic asking whether or not we were able to have them as annuals or perennials. He has no problem at all growing them in Morayshire. I have rarely been successfull in getting them to grow for more than one year. Having read all the comments I bought a lot last year and planted them in pots. I had a great show so I decided I will leave them in their pots and see if they return in the Spring. The new ones will be planted as a stream running through the raised bed /alpine bed which I made last year. I just hope they grow. I got these for 10p each when I was down in Wiltshire which is why I bought so many. It was a huge saving. I have been looking for them in the local GC's here but with no luck. They are always sold out by the time I get to the shop. I have never bought by mail order because I always feel the cost of postage is only justified if it is something I can not buy locally. Our local nurseries and GC's stock most of what is available mail order and I can get bulbs etc at the SRGC shows too. I think the secret of success with these is to have well drained soil so pots are a good idea. I have heard it said that they take a holiday from flowering the year after the first flowers so I hope this will overcome that problem should it happen to me.
