Well this did have 5 flower spikes but something, assuming the magpies, pecked off all accept one.

Thanks Alan :-), magpies always remind me of a gang of naughty teenagers the other year it was all the orange and red daylilies they took a dislike to, pecked the heads off them all one morning, I heard the racket they were making but to late.

The magpies are currently ripping our hawthorn hedge to bits, taking it for nesting material. Last year the pigeons had all the heads off our white rockery plants. Most of the other birds, in the garden, are "well mannered" and not at all destructive. Mind you, the fat balls (10 in 3 different feeders), need topping up twice a week.

Oh dear Alan flippin hooligans those magpies lol, I always remember waking one morning a few years ago to them making such a noise outside the window, looked out to see them pulling OH's sunbed to bits there was foam flying everywhere it wasn't at all funny but couldn't help myself laughing so comical to see.
Thanks everyone :-)
Ooo thats just made me think Amy I've not seen any squirrels at all this year, very strange with all the trees round us.
