This used to be Hermodactylus tuberosus, but was moved into the Iris genus. It also has a slight scent. The box on the left contains Moraea and Gladiolus seedlings that I started this year.

No, they are all outside. I grow several types of bulbs because they like my winter weather. They don't freeze, get plenty of water in the winter and very little in the summer, and the natural temperatures are ideal for germination. I had a Moraea bloom in late fall, a Gladiolus is almost open, and a flower spike is coming up on a Melasphaerula ramosa. I do have seedlings indoors - over 200 daylily seeds are starting to germinate, and once they get big enough, they will go out to a cold frame and then outside until I put them in the ground in late March.

Are these the kind that can grow in water - like the Louisiana Iris? They are beautiful.

It should have well drained soil.
