It is a lovely moth but it's just too blurred for me to id, so I have asked Victoria to take a look.

It's possibly an 'early grey'. Pattern is sort of correct.

I have a small identification book on Moths & Butterflies, but all the images have their wings open. The dark band must be markings across the wings.

Btw code is 20= 2020 first flowered on A allotment, 16th different cross that year.
Now relocated to home. a couple of years ago.

Our iris are in bud and are doing much better in the front garden where it's a lot dryer and they get more sunshine. They didn't flower in the back garden near to the fence. Could be a garden carpet moth. It looks very similar in my book.
