Thanks Janey, yes it is a single white wild rose. It is on a briar I did mean to pull out last year. It has been there for at least two years and I had intended to have a go at grafting on a rose from the garden. A long time ago I went along to interview someone and he was in his garden grafting roses. It was his hobby. He showed me how to do it and advised using wild rose briars from the hedgerows. When one planted itself in an area where I do not grow roses I decided I would give it a go. I'm not really that bothered about roses so the thought kind of floated in and out again. The stems are really long some of them up to 6' or 8' so I suppose I could transplant it to a place where I could keep it as a rambler /climber. Its starting to encroach on the path where it is so I will have to deal with it. It is a very pretty rose.
