Macleaya cordata

Macleaya cordata (Macleaya cordata (Plume poppy))

A tall plant for the back of the border, the buds are just opening.

It runs a lot, though. Does it do that with you, Spritz? Beautiful colour scheme all the same.

I planted two last year and only one came through the winter - so I got another this year and I hope they do spread a bit! They are tall enough for the position they're in, and should look great once there's a bigger clump.

I was warned that they might 'walk' - or even 'run' I like them against the golden hop.

I never thought of that combination, Spritz. I think you should prepare for 'walking AND 'running. lol as well

I'll be pleased if they do! :-)

What else?

See who else is growing Macleaya cordata (Plume poppy).

See who else has plants in genus Macleaya.

This photo is of "Macleaya cordata" in Spritzhenry's garden
