Is this the right photo Hmhb? a rose by any other name:-) I think there's a difference in what we call turks cap (lilium martagon) and your beautiful flower:-)

Nope, I bought this at Stephen F. Austin College Arboretum on their fund raiser day about 3 years ago. We also have the Turk's cap in red locally. Malvaviseus arboreus (I think).

Thank you Bornagain ( I like your name); I had the correct name "turk's cap," but the botanical name was wrong. I have edited it. This is going to be an educational experience in more ways than one, especially since I have to look it up. Mostly, all I know are the common names, and some of those are local nicknames... It should be fun to compare! Thanks again!
