That must be a pretty sight Hywel.
I think I have this one right Sheilar? its a is a yellow bee-pollinated annual or perennial herbaceous wildflower that grows along the banks of streams mine are around 78cm tall. There are annuals, perennials and sub shrubs (both annual and perennial forms occur throughout the species' range). They can be up right or prone.

The leaves and flowers certainly look like mimulus! But the ones in your pic are definitely much taller than the little ones I've had in the past

They can vary in size from 10cm-80 cm. I have short and tall one Sheilar.
