Tetrarch ... just found a pic on my photos, page 19, of the divided grass ... split it in March and took pic in June. I think the grass revived quite a lot. I agree with the info. gained from practical experience on this site ... I'm learning something new all the time! : o ))

Just been to look..we bought it the same year!! How far do you reckon you dug down for the roots, can you remember?

Well, it seemed like Australia at the time! Seriously, I think they were about 18" deep. We spread an old curtain on the lawn, dug out the plant, then divided it on the cloth as plenty of bugs had over-wintered within it!

I planted a Zebra grass earlier this year as I just love the stripey leaves. Can`t wait for it to spread so I can divide it to plant some else. :o)

One thing I have noticed since the division ... not as many 'tufty feathers' as I call them! Perhaps there'll be more next year.

I havent really looked at them closely (and I really should have after all this time) but Im hoping they are seedheads and I might have a go!
Is it my computer or is this site on a slow down tonight?

We have this grass.....and like you could do with dividing, so pleased now to find out it should be done in the spring......and yes my computer is on a go slow!!
