Yes, Milky, they are Alpin Poppies and there are plenty of them in the Jardin des Plantes. I'm fascinated by the fragile poppies and I planted seeds of California Poppy. Hope they are doing well underground, no sign of life yet.
Actually, I try to use them this year to cover fresh nettles-free ground spots of my garden.

These are beautiful. Californian poppies are usually quite tough and will grow almost anywhere. I hope they grow for you, they should do. If not try growing them in a pot or tray first.
