Phalaenopsis Hybrid Orchid

My friend was going to throw this orchid in the trash a couple of months ago. So, I took it home and put in the shade in the back yard...and a few weeks ago I surprisingly noticed it was blooming. Photo taken Sept. 15, 2011.

I really didn't do much. The flower spike came out of an existing old flower spike.

I have lots of orchids I put into the back yard when their not blooming, then bring them indoors until they're done blooming.
