Luckily for you, you don't have a hungry Muntjac deer popping in and grazing on the new young growth! Ours cannot get above 3 ft thanks to our visitor :((

Thanks Bloomer! It could be worse . . . we have a choice of menu for him (or her?), and apart from the tops of bluebell leaves not much else suffers :)

Bloomer there is a little Red Robin which we grow in our very small front garden.....but no variegation?
