Good colour on this...
I guess planted in the acidic "strip" of your garden ?

well yes i gues so TT, it was this bush that made me think i had acid soil in the first place before i did any tests. and yes it is stunning at the moment Barb, the flowers are nearly all finished but we now have all these wonderful shades of leaves. and Michaella - your gues is as good as mine, i have been here 3 years and i would imagine from the size of the trunk on it - it has been here for a while. i think it also depends on the variety, some are dwarf anyway, it has grown about a foot since i have been here, but i did take out some of the lower branches to get rid of some dead wood which has proberly given it a growth spert.

Lovely, they are such versatile plants, as long as they have the right soil, I grow several different varieties in our woodland area.

they are one of my favorites, i have never been able to grow them before, but low and behold i found this under loads of weeds when we moved here 3 years ago, so you can imagine my delight! - now i have filled up on Rhododendrons too :-)
