Thanks! This Plumeria still didn't bloom as heavily as it usually does during this past summer. I was due to it being the coolest summer since 1933.

reminds me a little of frangipangi. You have some wonderful specimen trees at San Diego Zoo, Delonix

Thanks! : > )
Frangipani is another common name for Plumeria. I have many pics from around my neighborhood posted on GoY also...as it's a commonly planted shrub/tree here.

Did you ever try Plumeria in ground in Hayward or Fremont?
My one try was half-a**. I let weedy grasses grow all around it,making the soil wet and colder then it should have been.

Yes, I grew Plumeria 'Celadine' which actually survived the 1990 freeze in the ground (covered up in a very protected spot in Hayward). There's a large tree in someone's yard in Mission San Jose...not sure if it's still there. It was in a protected spot which was kept dry in winter.
I used to grow all my Plumerias outside in Fremont (in pots). As long as they were kept dry, they were fine. This posted P. obtusa 'Singapore' was kept on the porch and brought in when it got too cold. P. obtusa 'Singapore' will not tolerate the hint of cold weather without developing cold spots on the leaves.
