How incredibly lush. The winter couldn't have been too cool. My potted Plumeria are barely breaking dormancy. They wont bloom until July if I'm lucky. Maybe this year sooner.
I looked up Lake Chapala's closest weather station on Weather Underground. That area is considerably warmer then even soucal in winter.
To tell you the truth Klahanie,I've been amazed at what tropicals can put up with the bay area's winter temps. Thats what sucked me into the hobby of exotics. Before the late 90's I had no idea what could take cold rains, freezes.
But I can say, when it gets cold in late December here..and I'm freezing my toes in the morning,I remember how far north this place is...

That's a beautiful full tree! I've seen some here with flowers and leaves; however, most are still dormant and start growing in late March and flower from old flower spikes in early April. The new flower spikes usually start blooming in late April or early May and will bloom through December.

Not all the Plumerias are blooming here either Delonix1.

This variety (Celadine) is one of the toughest and prolific bloomers. Most of the ones I see blooming now with leaves are this variety. The pink, red and other colors very rarely bloom this time of year here...they need the longer days with the summer heat.
