Pink Plumeria

It look s great for being cut back pretty and a lovely shape . Do Plumerias loose their foliage or are they evergreen ?

It looks great! I've liked the flowers of Plumeria ever since I first saw them as the desktop wallpaper on my wife's first laptop computer. I was so impressed that I asked my wife to send me the photo by email & I installed it as the wallpaper for my desktop computer!

Yes, it has come back very nicely. There used to be more trunks. Hopefully, they too them and planted them. They can be started at huge size, as long as the cutting is staked.

Plumerias will loose most of their leaves by the beginning of January. Some don't loose their leaves until February like my large pink plumeria tree.

Thanks! Yes, Plumeria trees are a very commonly planted shrub or tree here. Most have beautiful flower which are very fragrant.

I just wish we could grow them in the UK! But even if we could they would make far too big a plant to grow on our balcony!!!

In a pot Plumeria can stay really small. I have one in a pot that's only a little more than 2' (61 cm) tall and I've had it for more than 20 years.

With that rock- looks like Hawaii.

WOW! That encourages me a lot only they won't like our "cold" (for them!) summers & damp, cold, (& frosty at times), winters! I have nowhere to keep them comfortable during the 6 months of the year that they couldn't be out on the balcony.

Thats great they can grow from a large size handy to know when they loose their leaves.

You can put a small Plumeria into a closet over winter. They need no water and don't need any light when dormant.

My Plumeria trees do need some water and light because they grow in the ground outside and it gets hot here in winter many times.

Sure. I watch "Moving to Hawaii" all the time- every episode and the ranch style homes and rock walls seem common. In soucal,its common to see cinder block walls. Here in the bay area its still the dog eared Redwood fence.
Now,that's not a rock wall on the SD house..but it sets the mood along with of course the Plumeria.

In Hawaii, the homes are not double-walled, which would be an invitation to major bug problems (especially roaches which love to live in the walls and cider block walls.

The homes to the left of this one have several Celadine Plumerias. It amazes me how many there are...

Andy- any P.obtusa's? Or dwarf Singapores? I see you are having basically a Hayward summer all November- all 70's,maybe an 80f.
Here,we dipped to mid and upper 60's. Not bad when the sun is out. Plus,the rains are nice..light,enough that I don't have to water anything.
