This was a gift for "Womens Day" on March 8th. This date is celebrated in countries of the former Communist world. Now it is in my garden.

It is becoming more widely celebrated in North America now too. Happy Women's Day, however belated. What lovely colours I found pictures of the California primulas with their tall nodding flower heads.wish I could grow them as perennials. most primula are annuals here but some do show sufficient hardiness to overwinter for a second year. ...in the lower righthand corner just below the primula leaf I see another little frond reaching up. it looks familiar but I'm wondering what it actually is...can you help me? I enjoy your pictures of a part of Europe that is relatively unknown to me... read your blog about conifers with interest.
This is a terrific site isn't it?
