It will be all red with berries in the fall. Food for overwintering birds. Nice plant but very thorny.

Me too I have one growing along the fence looks great in flower but I have had numerous scratches from it tending plants at the back of the border!

Yes, they are a nuisance that way are not they?
I would like to prune it little closer to the main stems next year to make it a little smaller bush. Let my DH to take gas trimmer or even chain saw (if needed) to it. It is getting out of control. But I have to admit that I love to see it covered with red berries in the fall.
