Planted in fall of 2013. It has not grown an inch but looks healthy. This will be a big rhododendron (hopefully) with white flowers. I bought it for the most interesting leaves with cinnamon-brown on the undersides. Young leaves are white-green.
One of the best hybrids for foliage. RHS Award of Garden Merit.
Bred by: J. Hooker. Origin: British.
Habit: Treelike
"Rhododendron 'Sir Charles Lemon' is regarded as a natural hybrid of R. arboreum and R. campanulatum
It was grown by Sir Charles Lemon from seeds previously collected by Joseph Hooker, during a trip in India, from 1849 to 1851

Yes Tommymoo, finally, we had couple days of rain. Our big trees suffered tremendously as this summer was very warm and no rain whatsoever. So the rain was welcomed.
No rain today.
