Salvia "Black and Blue" seedling

By Meanie

Salvia "Black and Blue" seedling (Salvia patens (Sage))

Here's a seedling grown from seed collected from "Black and Blue" last year. Distinctly different to the parent plant but that could be because it is still a young plant or it could be that it will remain different next year.

I will. I was hoping for some reversion back to the true S.guaranitica but I really like this. Fingers crossed for next year.

I love black and blue, this summer I bought a new plant, because we lost the last one...good luck with the seedling...

You lost a Black and Blue! It's been years since I lost one (2011/12 I think).

We dug it up, our fault we thought we had saved one, and we hadn't??

I lost mine too....

They must have free draining soil in the winter but are very cold tolerant (in my experience).

What else?

See who else is growing Salvia patens (Sage).

See who else has plants in genus Salvia.
