Post yours, pleeeeease! I'd like to see how big yours is.
I don't want mine to be too tall and grow to be a "proper" tree like a normal green elder. Maybe I should start pruning this year then? When is the best time to cut back Simbad???

The light is nice, shinning thro' your banana?

Thank you Siris ♪
The red Abyssinian banana is shining in the "magic light" in the evening.

I wish my Sambucus nigra 'Black Beauty' would be like this . I have it for few years but it is still just a stick with 2-3 flowers. I have couple of big green and white elderberries which seems to be native here. Seeds probably distributed by birds. They love the berries.

When I bought it in Aug 2010, it was just a wee little thing and the colour was green. Here's the photo:

Maybe yours will take off suddenly and get bigger in a couple of years?

I ll take one for you in a week Tommymoo off on my hols in an hour !! Just sorting things for eldest daughter who's coming to look after Symb.
You prune in early spring and can prune quite hard but not a good idea to do that every year from what I've read, I've always put it off as I really like the flowers and not sure if I'd loose them for a year?
