Homebird - yes this plant is among a group of plants that act as a filter by removing pollutants from the air and replacing the air with oxygen in a more pure form. There's others like: chrysanthemums, gerberas, hedera helix.

Thanks Star - I'm a bit partial to my courtyard area too. It's such a shady retreat during the hot months and then an absolute joy to be out there for the rest of the year.
