My Spathiphyllum 'Sensation' is starting to bloom again. It's in the front yard by the stairs. By tomorrow the flower should completely open. Photo taken Sept. 22, 2010.

Lori:
I hear it is a great indoors plant. Outdoor the snails love this plant in winter...as you can maybe can tell by the partially eaten leaves.

Snails and slugs... good grief.
In the atrium of the large children's hospital in Toronto..they have spaths by the dozen in the glass area near reception... they are so beautiful and the scent is delicious!

Lori:
Snails are my plant's worst enemy in winter. Last winter they ate virtually every leaf off my Pachystachys lutea - Golden Shrimp plants and Crossandra infundibuliformis - Firecracker Flower plants.
I bet the sight of all those Spathiphyllum are incredible at the hospital. Balboa Park used to have mass plantings of Spathiphyllum in the shaded areas along the promenade. For some reason they all were taken out..maybe because of snail damage. lol! : >)

Poor old snails...
If you don't have pets sniffing around your garden ...may I recommend diatomaceous earth?

I love Spaths!~ Should buy a few for indoors this winter. They do so well with little light and little water...(humidity) that it makes them a good choice for houseplant up here.
