It is a tropical tree that grows very large here in San Diego. It does not like cold, though. It can start looking sad when the morning lows get in into the low 40’s, like it’s been the last two mornings.
I’ve read this variety is one of the best tasting varieties. I haven’t tasted a fruit, and my tree hasn’t fruited yet. I’ve had this cutting-grown plant for over two years. I hope it fruits this coming spring or summer year!

It’s a very beautiful tropical tree! The leaves open this dark red or burgundy color.

I grew that in a tropical greenhouse many years ago for a occupation. In that warmth they did ok in a pot..all of the greenhouse plants were potted.
I recall it being crunchy.
