Glad you got to see some pics. of the flowers! It's a common vine here. I wanted to plant one...however, I made the mistake of planting Thunbergia 'Blushing Susan' which has taken over the whole side of my house. They tend to grow out of control very quickly in our warm subtropical climate.

I was told by one bay area "expert" this wont grow in the bay area.
What do you think?

I would try it. Most Thunbergia species are pretty hardy up there.
