Just thought that I'd share this photo of a Tibouchina flower once the petals have dropped!

Thanks Alex! It was a bit of fun really, but it has a certain alien quality to it!

Thanks Fractal - it's one of my favourite new plants this year and I can't stop photographing it! This offered up an interesting new perspective on it!

Thank you Shirley!
Much the same really, although to be fair not so sweaty and not so cold. Had a boiling hot bath with loads of Dettol three times today, and that always makes me feel better, if a bit whiffey!

Such a caring, sharing lady ... lol !

She works in an air conditioned office - I dread to think how many days a year they lose to illness!

Beautiful mix of shades Meanie.....

Not my doing - this plant has such an interesting variety in textures all over too! Soft silky flower petals, hairy leaves woody stems etc.

I love its Cinnamon shaped hairy leaves too. This whole family (Melastomataceae) are very interesting with some spectacular members within it.

It was the leaves that caught my eye on the stall too Fractal. The spectacular blooms are a complete bonus!
