Tropaeolum specosium for my file

siris

By Siris

Tropaeolum specosium for my file (Tropaeolum speciosum (Flame flower))

Red flowered hardy perennial climbing Nasturtium, bought earlier this year and planted in a shady position with plenty of ericaceous compost. As there is one shoot which is dryed up I think a slug has been eating the shoot at ground level.

Dd, So pleased, I didn't think it would flower this year or next or grow so well. From your friend's open Babara's NGS open day, only about 6" when bought, now up to the conservatory gutter. As you said taking out the apple tree (& Pear) would opened up planting opportunities.

Mine have died off already Sue I'm not sure if it was the heat combined with us being away for a week and not being watered ...

I suppose it must be about the right time Sue I'm forgetting how quickly the time is passing by. According to my book you can divide the rhizomes in the autumn planting them horizontally.. I'm not sure that I would want to disturb mine its had a good year ..

Keeping one going, I think will be enough of a challenge. Amy.

What else?

See who else is growing Tropaeolum speciosum (Flame flower).

See who else has plants in genus Tropaeolum.

This photo is of "Tropaeolum speciosum" in Siris's garden
