Blueberries ripening

High-bush variety blueberries. Large and juicy, but not as flavourful as the ground-cover type. However, if you freeze these they are excellent for baking. I'm still looking in my archives for the photo of the flowers. They look similar to those of Arctostaphylos uve-ursi that Terratoonie posted on her blog.

I love blueberries. I wouldn't be able to tell you how many of these I picked when I was young. Some were eaten, and some sold.
I love to make blueberry cheesecake! My fav.

I do have several blueberry bushes ,they freeze well and are excellant for the winter months .
I have a recipe which I made up , it,s very simple if you have some pears , quarter and poach the pears in a little blueberry ribena , when they are almost poached throw in a good amount of the frozen blueberries , they only take a few minutes to cook . It looks and taste good and your guests think that you have spent hours making it ......
