First cut flowers of the year.

Nothing particularly exciting to report at the moment (I am working on a couple of blogs at the moment…) but I thought I would share a couple of photos of the vase of flowers cut from my garden. There are a couple of unusual cut flowers in the vase…….

As well as the Lilies, I put some flower stalks in from my Thalictrums (white and purple) and Heuchera!
A little unusual I know but I thought they would look nice and they do. I am also looking at how long they last as well: a week will be great as far as I am concerned.

Some of you may be wondering what the dark item is in front of the vase? Well its a……

All will be revealed tomorrow unless someone out there has one as well. The only clue I will give is that it cost more than 6 squid!

Happy gardening!

Those flowers are really lovely, is the thalictrum the little delicate White flower on the tall stems?

As to the dark object (not Harry potter and the dark arts) I thought squid to begin with then after a better look I thought maybe a piece of rock - something like obsidian? Or one of those crystal type rocks - amethyst?

The white flowers are Thalictrum and there are some mauve-purple ones as well. They are still looking good this lunchtime. As for the dark object.......you are in the right area with all your thoughts, but all will be reavealed after 9pm tonight.
