Well, I have finally got a little time to myself so a very belated Happy New Year to you all!!
Spring will soon be upon us and up to last weekend, the flowers and bulbs were of the same opinion.
But how things change……
We didn’t get the bad winter that was predicted but because the weather has been mild and nature has been confused a bit, does this current cold spell mean trouble for our plants?
I don’t know but I am keeping a close eye on things.
My Pelargonium sidoides looks fine in my raised bed, some of my saxifrages are in flower and a couple of my Androsaces are in bud.
None of my Passiflora have succumbed so far but ther is still time.
This year, I have done no pruning or tidying of my herbaceous beds at all: everything has been left to die down and the leaves are still where they dropped.
I just wanted to see if leaving them alone would make a difference to this years flowering. Time will tell.
Anyway, snow is forecast for my area (Hull on the East coast): this will be the first real fall of the winter and myself and the children are looking forward to having a play in it on saturday night!

Well thats a very positive attitude to the predicted snow for this weekend! Lets hope it doesnt do too much damage to our gardens. Hope you have a nice time with your family.

:o) Hope you and the kids have fun in the snow, not much laying on the ground yet here in Gainsborough, but my daughter says it has snowed all afternoon in Doncaster. :o) have fun.
