Starting my herb or "boggy" garden

Unfortunately I have had a set back to starting my back garden and herb garden due to discovering that my washing machine and utilty room has been discharging directly into my foundations and garden by the back door for the last 7 years when the house was new. I thought the garden was rather soggy but put this down to builders rubble soil and clay not realising it was more washing powder and fabric softner! It has now been rectified and having drawn my plan of my herb and veg plot I am about to get stuck in. I have started a photo bog, erm I think I have anyway!

I did think that even my mint would come up smelling of "lavender" or "summer breeze"!

Don't you just love these builders? Hope you were covered by NHBC.

Fortunately the original builders put the problem right. We were geared up for battle having been fobbed off by NHBC. I have now "painted" my lawn with the outlines of my plan. That was the easy bit, think I had better buy a good spade now!
