Moving house ?

Younger members may not know this, but if you have a cat
and you move house, remember to rub some butter on its
paws and keep it indoors for 3 days in the new house.
It will sit and lick the butter off, then it knows that its in
its new home. And stay there !

Interesting! I would never think to rub butter on my cat's paws. My cat never wants to go outside ever.

my daughter was told to keep their's in for 3 weeks then just before letting them out butter their paws. They then leave 'fatty' foot prints that they can smell their way back with.
which ever way their cats came back safely.

When we moved here the removal men left a door open and the cat got out and disappeared...panic! But when they went away and all was quiet thankfully he came back again - you can imagine how relieved we were! What I did was saved some used litter from the tray where we moved from and put some little heaps of it round the garden so he knew it was his. No problems.

Cat rescue also told us to keep the cat indoors for 3 weeks when we got her.
