I estimate these 2 videos are 100 times better than my last:

Thanks, Balcony. Yes, I got there a bit late for the second one! Actually, the absence of chewing in the first clip shows that that fly got away!

Do they sometimes miss the fly? In the documentaries I've seen on TV they never miss their intended target! Perhaps they edit out the misses!

These ones here often miss, especially when a fly is executing torpedo-dodging tactics - rapid changes of direction as it forages for food. A stationary target is rarely missed, though.

Good clips G. , do these 2 live permantly in your garden or do they travel about a bit ?

Thanks, Littlelegs, both these clips are of Humpy (the same chameleon).
We haven't seen Denty and Peaky (see my Photos) for quite a while and I fear they must have moved on. The discovery of a new-born baby on their bush might just conceivably explain it: having populated this bush with a future generation, maybe they need to move on to establish other colonies.
I suppose Humpy will move on from the hibiscus too one of these days. These chameleons do seem to be rather nomadic.
Another chameleon, Scabby, is pressing to compete for an Oscar and gave brilliant performances today: I hope to finish and post her movies shortly.

Although I had to replay the first video twice, I saw clearly this time how its tongue flicked out & picked up the fly! You could have warned us that the 2nd video starts with Humpy snapping up a fly in the opening seconds!
The quality of the videos is much improved in these two clips. Well done! :-))
