After all the terrible winds and rain we had yesterday…(15th jan)..it was such a pleasure to see the sun this morning… went for a walk round the garden the poor lawn is so boggy, but lovely to see the bulbs popping up there heads and the snowdrops little flowers just beginning to come through…… a sure sign spring is not far away.

Sadly, although the sun rose shining brightly, the rain clouds arrived only an hour later and it's been raining ever since. I did spot a snowdrop and 2 yellow crocuses on my way up the path with the dog, though! Hooray! However, I am really not looking forward to the next two days, we have flood alerts again - our village got cut off on Friday and I had to drive 10 miles extra each way yesterday to avoid going through the flooded lanes! I hope everyone will be OK. Good luck.

Thanks, Holly. So far, so good here. Rain yesterday but not for long. Dry but windy today, rain forecast over weekend. (Fingers crossed, because the stream is still high...)
I had a 'Wow' moment on my walk with Henry this morning. We went along a public footpath which crosses a village 'garden' - he has several acres - and right by the stream bridge, there was a patch of beautiful tall snowdrops in full bloom, growing amongst variegated ivy and some other greenery under some bushes. I just stood and stared, I needed a camera! How wonderful was that!
